On the occasion of the celebration of World Museum Day, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities decided to allow Egyptians to enter the open museums free of charge on Monday, 18 May, which is under way.
The decision does not include three museums, the Egyptian editorial museum, the Egyptian Grand Museum and the Egyptian National Civil Museum.
Museums will also organize art exhibitions, cultural, artistic, awareness-raising activities and demonstration tours on the margins of this day ' s observance.
May 18 was chosen as World Museums Day coordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to highlight a specific theme changing each year to reflect a relevant topic or issue facing museums at the international level.
