Engineer Khalid Hashim, Minister of Industry, announced that the Ministry was preparing to launch the first industrial investment fund with citizen participation in the coming September, in a step aimed at providing new financing mechanisms to support factories and promote industrial growth, within an integrated strategy to broaden the investment base in the sector.

During a press conference, the Minister said that the Ministry was approaching the completion of the industrial portfolio of investment funds, in preparation for the launch of the first fund in September, explaining that the administration of funds would be entirely through the private sector, while the role of the State was to develop regulatory frameworks, provide technical support and participate in the selection of projects and companies eligible for funding.

Khalid Hashim explained that the first phase would direct funding to the expansion of existing factories with real opportunities to increase production and operational energy, thereby maximizing the use of existing industrial investments and raising production and operation rates.

The Ministry had established precise criteria for selecting beneficiary companies, to ensure that funding was directed to serious projects capable of adding value to the national economy, stating that some funds might enter as an investment partner in a number of industrial enterprises, in coordination with the Ministry of Investment and Trade, to provide more flexible financing solutions for manufacturers.

The Minister of Industry emphasized that these funds are one of the new financing instruments designed to attract citizens ' savings to investment in the industrial sector, supporting productive expansion and enhancing industry ' s contribution to economic growth and increased exports.

In a related context, Hashem pointed out that the Ministry continued to develop the industrial land allocation system through more flexible mechanisms, including the end-of-owner rental system, to alleviate the financing burdens of investors and to enable them to direct liquidity to purchase equipment and production lines rather than freeze them in the cost of land.

Such actions were part of a comprehensive vision of accelerating industrial development, deepening domestic industrialization, increasing the domestic component and increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian industry in domestic and external markets, with a more efficient investment environment based on digital transformation and streamlining of procedures for investors.
