The District Court dismissed the defendant ' s appeal and upheld the appeal for six months ' imprisonment with effect, in the event of the abuse of Dr. A.A., a brain and neurological resident at the Nasser Institute hospital, and theft of her mobile phone following the expiry of the working inauguration last March.
Details of the incident are due to an assault by a person on the doctor and theft of her mobile phone, following the end of the workflow, in the area of medical crew accommodation.
As part of the legal support provided by the General Union of Doctors, the Rapporteur of the Legal Committee assigned to the Trade Union Dr. Tariq Mansour, the Legal Department, to follow up the proceedings before the Public Prosecutor ' s Office, until the case was referred to criminal trial, which first served to sentence the accused to six months ' imprisonment with employment.
Following the appeal of the sentence against the accused, the trade union continued to follow the case and provide the necessary legal support, including attendance, filing of legal motions, civil prosecution and compensation, until the court of the plaintiff ' s wing rejected the appeal by the accused and upheld the appeal for six months ' imprisonment with effect.
In this regard, Captain Dr. Osama Abdul Hai reiterated that the insurance of hospitals and facilities attached thereto, including the accommodation of doctors and medical staff, is a fundamental obligation, as the provision of a safe environment for medical crews is an essential condition for the continued efficient delivery of medical service.
The Chief Medical Officer stressed the need to re-evaluate the security system within university and public hospitals, ensure an effective security presence 24 hours a day, activate surveillance systems and respond quickly to any emergency, in order to preserve the safety of doctors and staff within the health system.
