His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports/Ghar Nabil, received a delegation from the General Union of Veterinary Doctors, headed by Dr. Majdi Hassan, Captain General, on Sunday, 26 July 2026, to examine ways of joint cooperation and establish a framework for youth employment and Egyptian society within youth and sports enterprises.
The delegation included: Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi, Secretary of the Trade Union Fund, Dr. Ahmed, Rapporteur of the Youth Committee, and Dr. Hagger Salah Al-Din, member of the Trade Union Council.
The meeting saw a detailed presentation by the General Union aimed at preparing a cooperation protocol between the Ministry and the Trade Union, based on the professional and community role of the veterinarian in protecting human health through food safety control and health awareness.
Highlights of the note submitted:
1. The trade union emphasized the importance of using specialized veterinarian doctors to supervise food safety in youth cities, sports clubs and central restaurants of the Ministry, to ensure the quality of meals for sports and young people and to prevent food-borne diseases.
2. Launch a national programme entitled " Your food is a secretariat " or " young people, safe food " to train workers and youth on the basis of proper food circulation.
– The organization of curative and awareness-raising veterinary convoys within youth and club centres to deal with pets and to raise awareness of the dangers of price and common diseases.
- Holding symposia on "Secure and human interaction with animals" to spread the culture of animal companion and avoid injury.
3. The trade union demanded that veterinarians and their families be given discounts and benefits in the use of the Ministry ' s facilities, such as youth cities, youth homes, playgrounds and trips, with the Ministry ' s facilities available for appropriate training, scientific and social activities.
4. The note emphasized the need to establish a joint commission comprising representatives of the Ministry and the Trade Union to establish technical and administrative controls and the operational programme of such cooperation within a specified time frame.
For his part, Dr. Majdi Hassan, Commander-in-Chief of Veterinary Doctors, confirmed that the trade union was ready to provide qualified technical personnel to participate in this national project, noting that the veterinary doctor was the first line of defence of human health, and that cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports would represent a qualitative shift in the quality of services provided within sports facilities, as well as the opening of new training and operation for young doctors.
وأكد الطرفان على الرغبة المشتركة في تحويل هذه المقترحات إلى واقع ملموس يخدم منظومة “الصحة الواحدة” ويحقق الاستفادة القصوى من موارد الدولة لصالح المواطن، وتم الاتفاق على تحديد لجنة للتواصل المباشر بين الطرفين للوصول إلي الإطار العام للبرتوكول الذي سيتم توقيعه.
