Dr. Maya Marcy, Minister of Social Solidarity, addressed the Judicial Control Committee of the Ministry and the Central Department of Disabled Persons and the Directorate of Social Solidarity of Cairo by examining the video of social media on the abuse of a supervisor of the Society for the Right to Life for the Care of Mentally Disabled Persons, immediately following the coordination with the Office for the Protection of Children, Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly on behalf of the public, following the hearing of the supervisors at home.
The location of the incident was found to be a residence in the area of the squatter of the Society for the Right to Life for the Care of Intellectually Disabled Persons. The home was licensed by the Ministry of Social Solidarity under the terms of No. 197 of 2026. The accused supervisor was called A.H. and the victim was 47 years old with severe mental disability.
The Public Prosecutor ' s Office has also ordered the establishment of a committee of the Judicial Inspectorate and the Central Department of Disabled Persons and the Department of Social Solidarity of Cairo to examine the home. Some observations have been made. The Department has also been inspected by the Public Prosecutor ' s Office in the presence of a representative of the Department of Social Solidarity of Cairo, where the camera and records of the home have been stripped and investigations are ongoing.
