Minister of Foreign Affairs meets the President of the Philippines to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation

On Friday, 24 July, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians abroad met with H.E. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Republic of the Philippines during his visit to the capital Manila to participate in the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (ASEAN).

Minister Abdelathi conveyed greetings by His Excellency Mr. Abdelfattah Al-Sissi to His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., underscoring the evolution of bilateral relations, and ensuring that the momentum of relations between the two countries was built, particularly with the commemoration this year of the eighty-year period of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the Philippines, as well as the continued strengthening of economic and commercial cooperation, and encouraging business communities to take advantage of promising investment opportunities in both countries.

For his part, His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., requested that his greetings and appreciation be conveyed to His Excellency Mr. Abdelfattah Al-Sissi, expressing his country ' s pride in the close relations that Egypt and the Philippines had accumulated, and that it should continue to work together to promote bilateral cooperation in various areas, and commended Egypt ' s central role in supporting security and stability in the Middle East region and its efforts to contain regional crises.
