
The Federation of Egyptian Insurance Companies is studying the preparation of a unified medical system that includes all employees of insurance companies, and also extends to cover pensioners to reach the retirement age, in addition to workers in the sector from intermediaries and professional partners.
This project comes within the framework of the Union's keenness to achieve health equity and provide sustainable medical coverage for all employees of the insurance sector, which enhances job stability and establishes a more integrated professional culture.
Alaa Al-Zuhairi, Chairman of the Egyptian Insurance Federation, said that the General Secretariat of the Union will present the outlines of this important subject to the Board of Directors of the Union at its first meeting during the new session 2025-2029 and the decision. Held on 15 September.
He added that the launch of this strategic project will depend in a large part on the efforts made by the committee formed by the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority and the Federation of Egyptian Insurance Companies for several years, which is doing so far a very distinctive work to contribute to the provision of material support for the treatment of some workers in the insurance sector and not only in insurance companies.
The cornerstone of insurance sector growth
He added in a press statement issued by the Union, stressing that the human element is the cornerstone of the growth of the insurance sector, and hence our initiative to establish a unified medical system that provides a comprehensive health umbrella befitting all workers in this vital sector, whether in service or after retirement, as well as those who contribute an effective role such as intermediaries and others.
Study the optimal models of application
The General Secretariat of the Union will present to the Council the study steps that will depend on the study of the optimal models of the application, in cooperation with major medical insurance companies and medical management companies (TPAs), in addition to the use of international expertise to ensure the best standards in terms of coverage, efficiency and cost.
The system is expected to include multiple benefits, including comprehensive medical coverage (tests, treatment, emergency, chronic care), as well as an expanded network of medical providers nationwide, as well as modern electronic systems for managing claims and communicating with beneficiaries, special privileges for retirees, as well as flexible choices for intermediaries and informal workers in the sector.
Invite all member companies
In the case of the initial approval of board members, the Federation will invite all member companies and employees of the sector to participate in the consultative workshops that will be organized during the coming period, to ensure that the application includes all ideas that will be obtained from the companies.
