Ahmed Zaki, Secretary-General of the Exporters Division of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Vice-President of the Exporters Division of the Cairo Chamber, confirmed that President Abdelfattah Al-Sissi ' s directives to support the industrial sector over the past 12 years had contributed to an upsurge in industry and increased Egyptian exports, through infrastructure development, investment expansion and improved production climate.
Industry development starts with infrastructure.
During a telephone intervention on the Channel today, Zaki said that the State had adopted an integrated industrial support strategy, including the development of technical education, the establishment of roads and hubs, the modernization of ports and the introduction of new industrial land, which had contributed to increased production, cost reduction and the strengthening of the competitiveness of the Egyptian product.
Energy and investment support production
The State ' s success in securing energy needs despite global challenges had enhanced investor confidence, with the expectation that over the next five years Egypt would become one of the most prominent clean energy exporters, which supported the attraction of further industrial investment.
Local industrialization and value added
ZK noted that the State was moving strongly towards maximizing the value added of agricultural and raw products, expanding the localization of nutrient industries and production of production and spare parts, thereby reducing dependence on imports and boosting exports.
Investing in the training and rehabilitation of technical employment was one of the most important factors in enhancing industrial efficiency and competitiveness in external markets.
Export targets
Egypt ' s exports had achieved annual growth rates ranging from 10 per cent to 2 per cent over the past three years, emphasizing that continued implementation of the industrial development strategy could raise the value of exports to $70 billion by 2030, noting that the potential of Egypt qualified to reach $200 billion in exports in the long term, with continued efforts by the State and the private sector.
