Egyptian media outlet Basma Wahba violently attacked Lebanese star Maya Diab after the latter defended Dina al-Sherbini in the divorce crisis of Karim Mahmoud Abdulaziz, and asked her to "shut up".
The controversy escalated on social media after the media responded with a sharp blow to the Lebanese star Maya Diab, after the latter appeared in a video in which she defended the artist Dina al-Sherbiny against the backdrop of the crisis of the divorce of artist Karim Mahmoud Abdulaziz from his wife Anne al-Rifai.
In a video posted on her accounts, she addressed Maya Diab: "By saying إيهSweetie, you are not shutting up. This is about the Egyptians together, are you?"
She continued in more severe words: "You are not from our country, what you stretch your tongue on us, respect yourself, and the next time remains the turn on you."

Basma’s response came after a video of Maya Diab talking about the campaign of abuse against Dina al-Sherbiny, saying that what is happening is "an affront to the dignity of people," and attacking accounts she described as "cheap" fueling the crisis through social media.
Maya said she considered herself "our sister" and that the media was handling the case unprofessionally and abusively.
The crisis began after media reports linked Dina al-Sherbini to the divorce of Karim Mahmoud Abdulaziz from his wife Anne al-Rifai, who said she learned about the divorce via Instagram.
Karim issued a statement stressing his respect for his daughters' mother, denying that any recently mentioned figure was a reason for the separation, stressing that "houses are secrets" and that the separation came with a cordiality and respect.
For her part, Dina al-Sherbiny edited a report against the media Marwa Sabri and a number of social media pages, accusing them of defamation, insult and slander after putting her name in the crisis without evidence.
