Dr. Abukar Al-Jadi, Secretary-General of the Federation of Medical Trade Unions, reviewed the progress report from 2020 to 2025, to be presented to the General Assembly scheduled for tomorrow, 24 July 2026, including the most notable achievements in pensions, subsidies, treatment, investments and income files.
The report indicated that the value of the monthly pension increased from Pound900 in 2020 to Pound2000 in 2025, with a growth of 122 per cent, while the number of beneficiaries increased to 6,000 and 539, in addition to 33,000 and 865 beneficiary families, with total disbursements reaching Pound2.355 billion by the end of 2025.
The report noted increases in 14 types of medical and social benefits, including the lifting of tumours, organ transplants and cardiovascular wounds from £10,000 to £30,000, disaster relief from £10,000 to £4,000, death allowance from £1,000 to 4,000, and a doubling of other benefits.
With regard to the treatment project, the report indicated that there were 471 thousand and 701 participants, 19 per cent more than 2020, while the annual utilization rate increased to 55,000 pounds, with more than 633 thousand letters of conversion issued during 2025.
The report revealed a significant growth in medical blood income, which recorded Pound4.11 billion during 2025, with a total increase of 221 per cent compared with 2020. Total investments also increased to Pound16.723 billion, while the return on investments was Pound237 billion, reflecting the evolution of the investment performance of the Federation and the strengthening of its financial resources.
The report confirmed that these indicators reflect the commitment of the Federation of Medical Trade Unions to developing services for members and their families, improving the social and therapeutic system, while maximizing the return on investments to meet economic challenges.
