The late payment of a journalist ' s allowance is no longer just a number to uncover an account or a budget item that has shifted over the past months to a daily tranquillity in the homes of journalists and their families and to a question repeated in the eyes of the children when the allowance returns?
We live in a country where it is assumed that the system of rights and duties is one, that work is honoured, that the word is responsible, and in all sectors we have seen a relative improvement in access, an expansion of protection programmes and serious attempts to stabilize people in their jobs, but in return, there are some 600 journalists and journalists who suddenly find themselves outside the paperwork, not for a sin they have committed, for administrative and structural reasons which they have no bearing, as if it is not to stop.
More painfully, the late journalists ' allowance, which was supposed to be part of the professional appreciation of the children of the profession, became the only source of income for about half of the journalists, homes run and schools paid for and treatment purchased. When the money was delayed, money was not only delayed, security was lagging behind and the feeling of belonging to the press establishment was delayed.
At the same time, we see press institutions that gradually turn into closed circles that manage inefficient relationships and unreasonable connections to be entered by those who enter them by reason of kinship or by virtue of " indifference " , while those with experience and professions are left to journalists standing on doors and when one of them raises their voice to claim justice, sometimes with irony, sometimes with exclusion and sometimes with the silence that is more severe than rejection.
As journalists, we do not demand special privileges, and we do not ask for extraordinary treatment. All we ask for is our simplest professional right to work, the right to timely payment of the allowance, the right to live in safety dignity for us and our children, we have not betrayed the profession, we have not traded national issues, we have not left our positions at the hardest moments of our burden, our books and our transfer of the truth, even when it was painful.
But the question that can't be crossed... Where is the Secretary of State for Information from this file? He is a professional and well aware that this allowance is the nerve of half the journalists, even if his position is now governmental, it is supposed to be a voice of journalists within the Government and a faithful carrier.
As we wonder... Why is the payment of the allowance in the Ministry of Finance being delayed for months? Why is the increase in the allowance only at the time of the electoral benefits and then to be forgotten?

نحن لا نوجه اتهاماً لأحد لكننا نطرح أسئلة مشروعة تفرضها أزمة خانقة يعيشها الصحفيون.
الصحافة ليست ترفاً ولا مهنة يمكن الاستغناء عنها الصحفى هو من يوثق ومن يراقب ومن يضع المرآة أمام المجتمع وعندما يُدفع الصحفى إلى اليأس ويُحرم من أدوات عمله ومن بدل هو حقه فإن الخطر لا يعود عليه وحده الخطر يمتد إلى الرسالة الصحفية وإلى الثقة فى قدرة الدولة على حماية أبنائها من أهل القلم بعدالة.
نحن نناشد باسم الصحفيين المتضررين وباسم الأسر التى أنهكها الانتظار أنقذوا الصحفيين من البطالة والفقر والإقصاء أعيدوا فتح الباب أمام الكفاءة الصحفية وأعيدوا للبدل قيمته كحق أصيل للصحفى لا كمنحة تدخلوا الآن قبل أن يتحول الصمت الطويل إلى انفجار وقبل أن تصبح معالجة الأزمة أصعب بكثير من منعها.
فالصحافة لا تقوى إلا حين يشعر كل صحفى فيها أنه مرئي وأن صوته مسموع وأن كرامته وحقه مصانين.
