Chinese President Shi Jin Ping renewed China ' s firm support for the United Nations during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, visiting Shanghai to participate in the events of the 2026 World Congress of Industrial Smart and the high-level meeting on global governance of artificial intelligence.

Jotirich commended China for its unwavering support for multilateralism and the cause of the United Nations and international cooperation, saying that China had provided an example to the world.
Jotrich said that the United Nations would continue to strengthen cooperation with China, unilateralism, protectionism and hegemonic bullying, and would continue to protect the Charter of the United Nations and international law, as well as push the process of transition towards a multipolar world.
