The Minister of Industry, Khalid Hashem, held an expanded meeting with the President of the Union of Egyptian Industries and General Majdi Anwar, the Director of the National Service Projects, to examine ways to address the challenges faced by the quarry to double the exports of marbles and transcripts during the next period. The meeting was attended by Major General Abdul Salam Shafik, President of the Egyptian Mining Company, the Department of Mining and Navitanics, and representatives of Development, and representatives of the Department of the Rabah and Rabbat al-Gharat Division of Industry.
During the meeting, all possible paths for the advancement of the marble and germ sectors were reviewed, both by maximizing the use of available raw materials and by expanding research and exploration work, as well as by reviewing and developing the procedures for this activity in order to achieve greater governance and discipline, by reviewing mechanisms for increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian raw materials in external markets, in line with Egypt ' s manufacturing potential, and by optimizing the exploitation of natural wealth.
The meeting also reviewed the challenges and demands of the owners of marble and germs, ensuring discipline and optimizing the use of resources, as well as examining the efforts of the national service project system represented by the Egyptian Mining Company, the management and use of quarries and navigation to facilitate exploration and quarrying, as well as reviewing all organized and well-defined procedures for labour controls for exploration and quarrying workers, with a view to tightening control
Promoting transparency, including the initiation of parallels on quarry exits, which would contribute to preventing any manipulation or forgery, and accurately controlling and determining actual quantities recovered, with 18 new budgets being established in this context, in a step aimed at tightening the follow-up system and maximizing the utilization of resources.
Extreme interest in the industry of marbles and germs and provide all means of support to this industry to increase its exports to $1 billion per year. In the past period, there have been extensive movements in the revitalization of the industry, including meetings with manufacturers of the industrial snake zone and actions to regulate the conditions of unconscious manufacturers in cooperation with Cairo governorate and licensing through the Industrial Development Authority.
ولفت هاشم إلى أن هذا الاجتماع يأتي في إطار سلسلة من الاجتماعات التي تستهدف بحث كافة الآليات الممكنة لتطوير قطاع الرخام، وسبل زيادة صادراته، والعمل على إزالة المعوقات التي تواجهه، وذلك عقب الزيارة الميدانية التي تم تنفيذها لعدد من المصانع للوقوف على التحديات على أرض الواقع، في ضوء اهتمام الدولة المصرية بهذا القطاع باعتباره أحد القطاعات ذات الأولوية لدعم الصناعة الوطنية وتعزيز القدرة التصديرية.
وأوضح هاشم أن وزارة الصناعة تسعى لحل أي عقبات أمام المحاجر وتهيئة بيئة العمل للمستكشفين وأصحاب المحاجر والمصنعين لزيادة الإنتاجية وتنوع المنتجات اللازمة للتصنيع والتصدير خاصة وأن التصدير هو مفتاح النهوض بهذا القطاع، مشيراً إلى أنه سيتم تشكيل لجنة استشارية تضم ممثلي عدد من الوزارات والجهات المعنية واتحاد الصناعات المصرية لتقديم سبل الدعم للشركة المصرية للتعدين وإدارة واستغلال المحاجر والملاحات
وأضاف الوزير أن الوزارة تستهدف تحقيق زيادة كبيرة في عدد المحاجر العاملة بنهاية عام 2026، لافتاً إلى أن هذا الهدف يستوجب تضافر جهود جميع الأطراف المعنية مع المستكشفين وأصحاب المحاجر سواء المحليين أو الأجانب لزيادة جهود الاستكشاف والتوسع في نطاقاته الجغرافية والتحجير بما يسهم في زيادة الإنتاج والنهوض بصادرات القطاع وتقليل فاتورة الاستيراد.
