Over the current period, poultry is due to a significant increase in market supply, as a result of the expansion of production following the crises faced by the sector over the past years, primarily the shortage of feeds and the high cost of production requirements.
Al-Zini explained that the market operated according to supply and demand mechanisms, noting that the current abundance of production was the result of decisions and expansions made by producers several months ago when prices were high, which was now reflected in successive price reductions.
Expansion of production after the end of the feed crisis
The Vice-President of the Union of Poultry Producers said that during 2022 and 2023 the poultry sector had been exposed to significant challenges as a result of the dollar crisis and difficulties in importing feeds and raw materials required for production, which had caused some educators out of the system and reduced production volume, which had led to a marked rise in prices.
The improvement of economic conditions, the availability of feeds and the stability of the import movement had encouraged producers to return vigorously to the market, as well as to enter new investments and increase the number of plots on farms, both in the egg production and labelling sector.
The Vice-President of the Union of Poultry Producers pointed out that the rise in egg prices over recent periods had led many educators to increase their productive capacity, and additional numbers of poultry and mothers had been pumped in proportions exceeding 25 and 30 per cent compared to natural rates, which had contributed to a significant increase in production in recent months.
A large abundance of market supply
Zeni explained that the additional production flows that had entered the system during the past months had begun to manifest themselves in the markets at the moment, suggesting that the market continued to receive large production quantities and that the situation was expected to continue during the coming period.

وأشار نائب رئيس الاتحاد إلى أن زيادة الإنتاج تزامنت مع مجموعة من العوامل التي أثرت على معدلات الاستهلاك، من بينها موسم الامتحانات واقتراب عيد الأضحى المبارك، حيث تتجه شريحة كبيرة من المواطنين إلى شراء اللحوم الحمراء والأضاحي، وهو ما ينعكس على حجم الطلب على الدواجن والبيض.
