Members of medical professions in Egypt shall be served in cases of necessity for up to two years (renewable for another year) after the legal age of retirement (usually 60 or 65 years), with the approval of the Prime Minister at the Minister ' s presentation, in order to address the shortage of rare disciplines and in accordance with strict controls regarding the performance, technical excellence and actual need for employment, including:
– The tide shall be of the utmost necessity to fill a deficit in certain disciplines after the legal age of retirement (e.g. 60 years) or up to the age of 65 years, as applicable law. One year may be renewed for another year, at a maximum of two to five years, by law and circumstance.
– Excellence: Technical performance, performance appraisal reports and a note by the immediate President are required to be distinguished, so that the tide is limited to the actual function it has occupied and administrative or leadership cannot be assigned. The decision to extend the service of the Prime Minister is issued on the proposal of the Minister concerned, after the approval of a committee in the Ministry, to name but not limited. The Council of Ministers recently approved (end of 2025) the extension of 81 members of the medical profession for two years, since a law allowing them to be contracted up to the age of 65 to meet actual needs. In short, the extension of service to members of medical professions is made by exceptional decisions in cases of need to meet needs, and strict conditions are applied to ensure high-quality service continuity.
