The Ambassador of the United States to Egypt, Hiro Mustafa Garg, and the Governor of the shortest Engineer Abdel-Mald Amara, opened the new American pillar of Egypt ' s public library in the shortest.
This special cooperation between the Department of the Shortest, the Egyptian Public Library and the American Embassy in Egypt comes with investment support from the American Government in excess of $200,000, with a view to expanding opportunities for learning, innovation and cultural exchange in the shortest and neighbouring governorates.
The opening of the American pillar in the shortest is part of the celebrations of America250 commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States, highlighting the strong friendship of over 100 years between the United States and Egypt.
The United States Ambassador to Egypt, Hiro Mustafa Garg, said that we are proud to partner with the Al-Asser governorate and the Egyptian public library to establish this sophisticated interactive centre, which offers English language education activities, skills development workshops, youth programmes and cultural events for Egyptian people. This partnership is an excellent example of how the United States contributes positively to the lives of the Egyptian people every day.
The American corner is shorter.
The American pillar is characterized by a modern, multi-use design, with state-of-the-art techniques, digital resources and a variety of American books and information materials. Its flexible design offers space for study, community programmes and collaborative work, in a combination of contemporary American features and local cultural elements, reflecting the depth of partnership between the two countries.
وينضم “الركن الأميركي بالأقصر” إلى ثلاثة مراكز أخرى في مصر هي: المركز الأميركي بالقاهرة، والركن الأميركي بالإسكندرية، والركن الأميركي بالمعادي، ليكون رابع مركز أمريكي في البلاد ضمن شبكة تضم نحو 600 مركز حول العالم، مخصصة لدعم تعلم الإنجليزية والابتكار وتعزيز التبادل الثقافي.
وتضمّن الافتتاح اليوم معرضًا فوتوغرافيًا أرشيفيًا قدمه “شيكاغو هاوس”، يستعرض قرنًا من العمل الأثري المدعوم أميركيًا في مصر. وبالتزامن مع احتفالات America250 وافتتاح الركن الأميركي بالأقصر، تنظم السفارة الأميركية فعالية “Pop-Up USA” وحفلًا موسيقيًا أمام معبد الأقصر.
