On the margins of the meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Association of South-East Asian States (ASEAN) in Manila, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Foreign Affairs of Egypt abroad in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Badr Abdul Attiya
The Ministers had a thorough discussion on the extremely serious situation in the Middle East, which was the result of the Israeli aggression against Iran by the United States of America, and stressed the urgent need to intensify political and diplomatic efforts aimed at settling differences, taking into account the legitimate interests of all States in the region.
The meeting also addressed a number of current issues concerning Russian-Egyptian multidimensional cooperation, including the schedule of contacts and future bilateral meetings.
Both sides emphasized their firm resolve to further strengthen strategic partnership, expand trade and economic cooperation and continue to implement major infrastructure projects.
