Used by Greeks, Romans and Arabs in their battles, it has appeared in many myths and folktales, such as the winged horse "Pegasus" and the wooden horse in the story "Trojan Horse".
Importance of Horses to Arabs
For the Arabs, horses have a high status; they are mentioned in the Qur'an, and poets such as Antara and Mutnabi sing them. Arabs are distinguished by the production of purebred horses known as "Arab horses".
