Mohamed El Atrbi, Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Egypt, said that the Alco Committee at the bank decided after its meeting this morning to adjust the rate of return on dollar certificates.
The monthly return on 3-year dollar certificates was set at 4.75% instead of 5.15%, while the monthly return on 5-year certificates was set at 4.85% instead of 5%.

The bank confirmed that the new rates are due to take effect from Monday, September 1, 2025.
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) cut interest rates on deposit and lending by 2% last Thursday at the fifth meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee in 2025, to 22.00% for deposit and 23.00% for lending.
