Making a law Consumer protection Issued No. 181 of 2018, clear and strict controls ensure the right of the consumer to obtain goods at appropriate prices and address the manipulation and greed of traders, and the law included binding provisions for traders in achieving the required protection for consumers.
Article 35 of Law 181 of 2018 on consumer protection sets out the obligations of traders selling used goods.
The law stipulates that in the case of the sale of used goods, the supplier is obliged to indicate to the consumer the condition of the goods and their defects, as indicated in the executive regulations of this law.
In the case of the sale of used vehicles, the supplier shall submit to the consumer a technical report on the condition of the vehicle and its defects issued by a service center licensed to practice this activity, unless otherwise agreed.
The responsibility of the supplier and the service center shall be the source of the report jointly if it is proved that either of them deliberately concealed material data affecting the purchase price or the completion of the sale, or the failure of the inspection report to include such data due to gross negligence on the part of either.
