Arab Finance: Dr. Mustafa Mdbuli, Prime Minister, announced Resolution No. 2812 of 2025 appointing Dr. Islam Abdeladim Azm as President of the Governing Council Stock Exchange Egyptian for a year.
Dr. Azam has extensive experience with serving as Vice-President of the General Financial Control Board from January 2021 to August 2025, who was responsible for many sectors in the capital market, insurance and non-banking finance.
He also served as adviser to the head of the Real Property Finance Corporation between 2007 and 2009, in addition to an assistant to the head of the General Authority for the Capital Market from 2003 to 2005. He also served as a delegate to the Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Fund (SMEF) and was an assistant to the Minister of Investment.
At the academic level, Dr. Azzam is a professor of funding at the American University, after serving as Chief of the Finance Section for Higher Studies from 2005 to 2021. He was also an economic assistant at the Faculty of Commerce, the University of the Suez Canal, a visiting professor at the University of Stelynbush, South Africa, as well as at the Arab Academy of Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Azam has a full-fledged record of membership in the governing bodies of many institutions, including the Board of Trustees of the Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Unit, the Chairman of the Risk Committee of the Arab Egyptian Real Bank and the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Institute.
In addition, several various economic organizations, such as the Egyptian Insurance Holding Company, the Daqaliya Sugar Company and the Egyptian Product Company, as well as the Sun Housing Corporation, were elected as a member of the boards of directors.
His academic achievements were highly appreciated, with a doctorate degree in the economy from the University of California, Irvin, with specialization in the standard economy and monetary policy sciences. He also received a master ' s economy from the same university and another in the same area.
Dr. Azm ' s record is witnessing numerous research published in court journals, covering the areas of finance, econometrics and monetary policies, highlighting his active involvement in promoting academic and research knowledge.
