As part of efforts to promote social justice, Port Said Governorate has started the first phase of updating citizens’ data, paving the way for the inclusion of new beneficiaries in the supply support system. This measure aims to ensure that support reaches those most in need, which is a positive step towards improving the standard of living.
Importance of updating data
The officials, headed by the Minister of Communications Dr. Amr Talaat and the Minister of Supply Dr. Sharif Farouk, highlighted the importance of updating data accurately, as this file is a key pillar for the continued disbursement of support to existing beneficiaries, in addition to the possibility of including new families to meet the requirements of support.
Steps of ration card extraction
Under this initiative, smart ration card extraction became readily available to families not included in the system. This starts with the citizen applying at the local catering office with the required documents, which include:
- Pictures of the national number. For the head of the family and the wife.
- Birth certificates For sons.
- Document proving entitlement to support Ministerial Resolution No. 84 of 2009.
The catering office reviews the applications and makes sure there is no previous card, then the form is sent to the service center to enter the data electronically. Within two weeks, the smart card will be printed with the PIN, which is received separately so that the citizen can start benefiting from the ration courses the following month.
Enhancing transparency and ensuring the rights of beneficiaries
With these measures, the Ministry of Supply seeks to link the updating of data in an effective way that opens the door to new beneficiaries, thus enhancing transparency and ensuring that support reaches the actual beneficiaries. This approach is a positive step that contributes to improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups in society.
Updating ration data is not just an administrative procedure, but a new method of social and economic interaction aimed at improving the living conditions of many families. With these efforts, citizens are waiting for real promises of enhanced support to ensure their basic rights.
