The competent authorities announced their decision to release one of the accused in case No. 65 of 2021, which concerns the Supreme State Security investigations. The accused, who has been accused of joining the Zamalek Club fans association known as "White Knights", will be released on conditions related to the guarantee of his place of residence.
The investigation was launched after prosecutors charged the accused with belonging to the White Knights Ultras group and displaying force that could threaten others and endanger their lives.
On the other hand, on behalf of the investigations, the judiciary issued previous decisions to imprison a number of fans of Zamalek Club, in the context of the ongoing case, which is being investigated by the Public Prosecution. The charges against them include participating with others in establishing and leading a group with a terrorist character, which reflects the severity of dealing with suspicious activities that may threaten security and stability.
The follow-up of this case shows the complexity of the sports scene in the country, especially in light of the proliferation of groups that exploit sports enthusiasm to develop illegal agendas. It is necessary to keep the sports community away from any manifestations that may distort the image of sports and disturb the public.
