The General Medical Association declares its full solidarity with the General Union of Dental Doctors and the aggressor doctor in the unfortunate incident of abuse within a medical facility in the tent in the course of its work.
In the strongest terms, the union condemns the fact that the dentist has been abused, stressing that what has been done is a complete crime against the doctor and a flagrant violation of the inviolability of health facilities, the State ' s prestige and the rule of law.
It also noted that the Medical Liability and Patient Safety Act established clear legal protection for health service providers in the performance of their duty, and all relevant actors must act to enforce the law, and that any dispute or complaint must be dealt with through legal and official channels, not by violence, threat or abuse.
The trade union emphasizes that the case is not only the case of a doctor, but the case of an entire health system. The requirement is not only to punish the aggressors, but to perform their duties by the relevant State actors, to take decisive action to prevent such attacks from occurring on the ground, and to provide the necessary protection to medical crews within their places of work, which the union has repeatedly demanded.
The Union calls upon all media to play their national role in raising public awareness of the seriousness of attacks on medical crews and health facilities, to launch wide awareness campaigns to foster a culture of respect for medical crews and health facilities, and to sensitize citizens that any abuse of health service providers is not harmful to doctors alone, but directly to the quality and regularity of medical services provided to all citizens.
