Minister of Petroleum: Rationalization of expenditures and development of performance at the top of sector priorities

The Engineer Kerim Bedouy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, emphasized that the sector attached the utmost importance to rationalizing consumption and reducing expenditures, providing a savings to be directed to support development, efficiency and performance plans for various activities.

This occurred during the General Assembly of the Petroleum Arrow Company, which was held via videoconference to adopt the results of the 2025 work, in the presence of the leadership of the Ministry of Petroleum, the Egyptian General Petroleum Authority and representatives of the Central Accounting Authority.

The Minister stressed the importance of taking practical steps to transform the company ' s vehicle fleet into natural gas, as well as expanding awareness-raising programmes and workshops for drivers and transport contractors, thereby enhancing adherence to safe driving concepts and road safety.

He also thanked the Egyptian General Petroleum Authority for its efforts in the governance and control of the petroleum products trading system and the arrow company for its outstanding indicators in the areas of occupational safety and health, emphasizing the important role of citizens in reporting any unsafe practices as a proactive measure to reduce incidents.

During the Society, Engineer Mahmoud Al-Qassas, head of the company, reviewed the most notable business results, citing a growth of profits that exceeded 27 per cent by the end of 2025.

Some 4.7 billion litres of liquid petroleum products and 957 thousand tons of potass gas had been transported through a fleet of 362 transport units (trilates and logistics) covering various regions of the Republic, totalling 56 million kilometres of operation.

He noted that the company maintained a pioneering position on the market, with a share of about 17.5% of the transport of liquid petroleum products and 65% of the transport of peta gas at the Republic level.

It called for privileged safety rates, with the company registering about 3.81 million safe working hours without work-related deaths, as well as seeking ISO 14001 certification, occupational safety and health (ISO 45001), road safety (ISO 39001) and community responsibility (ISO 26000).

The company was working on biofuel projects in the province of Asiot, providing all its vehicles and contractors with Lucky tracking systems (GPS) to enhance operating efficiency and ensure the safety of flights.

With regard to human resources development, some 1,000 training opportunities had been provided to workers, along with the use of modern simulation devices to train drivers in safe and defensive driving methods.

The head of the company concluded by emphasizing the continuation of the fleet modernization plan with full compliance with safety standards, thereby supporting the achievement of distinct results and enhancing competitiveness in the transport of petroleum products.
