The United States dollar exchange rate continued to rise against the Egyptian pound during today ' s dealings, Thursday, so that the American currency would continue to be at the highest level of £50.4.
This comes in tandem with foreign investors ' exodus under the escalation of geopolitical tensions in the region, particularly following the United States and Israel ' s military operation against Iran and the latter with air strikes targeting the interests of America in the region.
According to a census, the highest exchange rate for the United States dollar in the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and the Kuwaiti community bank was at £50.33 for purchase, compared with £50.43 for sale.
The lowest exchange rate for the United States dollar at the National Bank of the United Arab Emirates was Pound5004 for purchase, compared with Pound50.14 for sale.
At the World Trade Bank and the Bank of Next, the exchange rate of US$ 50.30 was recorded for purchase against £50.40 for sale, at the National Bank of Qatar and HSBC, US$ 50.22 for purchase of £50.32 for sale, and at the Bank of Egypt and Bank of Abu Dhabi, US$ 50.21 for purchase, compared with £50.31 for sale.
At the Central Bank of Egypt, the exchange rate of the United States dollar recorded a level of Pound50.12 for purchase against Pound50.26 for sale.
The Egyptian pound had concluded in 2025 with strong performance, rising by 6.7% to the dollar since the beginning of last year, with the support of the standard leap in the remittances of Egyptians working abroad and the recovery of liquidity in the banking sector.
