
Gold prices on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 witnessed a slight decline in the Egyptian markets. The price of a gram of gold of 24 caliber was about 5268.0 pounds, while the price of a gram of gold of 21 caliber was about 4610 pounds, while the value of a gram of gold of 18 caliber to 3951.5 pounds.
Globally, gold prices have fallen due to the rise of the US dollar, despite continued concern about the independence of the US Federal Reserve, especially after the threat of former President Donald Trump to dismiss Councilwoman Lisa Cook.
In the local context, the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Egyptian pound stabilized in banks, where the price of the dollar in the National Bank of Egypt recorded about 48.54 pounds for purchase and 48.64 pounds for sale, while it was recorded in the Bank of Egypt at 48.54 pounds for purchase and 48.64 pounds for sale as well.
The Central Bank of Egypt said the average price of the dollar against the pound settled at 48.52 pounds for purchase and 48.66 pounds for sale.
