These statements came during his chairmanship of the general meetings of several companies working in the field of mining, where he stressed the importance of the project of the civil mining industrial complex in Shalatin Aswan, which aims to control the situation of prospectors and provide jobs in an organized and sustainable manner.
He pointed out that the Sukari mine is an example of outstanding success, as it is one of the ten largest gold mines in the world, stressing the importance of the ongoing partnership with Anglo Gold Ashanti to create an environment suitable for sustainable mining.
Schlatten’s chairman revealed that gold production had increased by more than 900 kg in 2024 with a plan to produce six tonnes over the next five years. In addition, Wadico announced the addition of 5.4 million tons of new phosphate, adopting the green mining method through the operation of crushers using solar energy.
The head of the Egyptian Mining Resources Company also said that the company aims to produce 593,000 tons of ores in the near future, with the extraction of tin ore starting for the first time.
The minister stressed that the expansion of mining activities is an essential element to support the state's objectives in boosting exports and increasing foreign exchange resources, stressing the importance of investing in research and exploration to increase mineral reserves.
He also pointed out that the state pays special attention to the application of environmental sustainability standards in all mining projects to ensure a balance between the exploitation of natural resources and their preservation for future generations.
