Interesting details in the sinking of Abu Talat: the recovery of a new body raises the number of victims

The body of a young man was found floating on the surface of the water and turned out to be that of a young man named Amin Mahmoud.

The Public Prosecution in Alexandria continues its investigation into the incident, inspecting the beach site in the Abu Talat area, and interrogating the injured in Ajami and Amiriya hospitals, as well as eyewitnesses.

Local media also revealed details of the drowning of girls on the same beach, where the beach rescuer confirmed that students participating in a summer trip to an aviation hospitality academy ignored instructions that had been put in place to prevent them from getting into the water.

The rescuer explained that the beach had been marked with "red flags" for three days, indicating that the sea was blocked because of the rising waves and their seriousness. He pointed to the readiness of rescuers to intervene in emergencies, expressing his expectation that the instructions will be respected by all.

He noted that the trip included about 150 people, mostly young girls with a number of supervisors, who confirmed that they would be limited to activities on the sand only. But suddenly one of the girls decided to go down to sea, which quickly dragged her deep. Her colleagues soon followed in an attempt to save her, despite repeated warnings.

The rescuer confirmed that the situation turned into pure chaos due to the force of the waves, and although they were able to rescue the girl who started the incident, but the incident led to the drowning of six girls, while 24 others were rescued. The rescue team called for help from the rescuers of the nearby beaches as soon as the number of drownings increased.
