On the sidelines of the meetings of the Executive Council of Education International, currently held in Brussels, Khalaf El Zinati, President of the Arab Teachers Union, held an important meeting with Ms. Corina Highthorpe, President of the Teachers Union in Australia, in the framework of enhancing international cooperation and the exchange of professional experiences between teachers unions around the world, in the presence of Yasser Arafat, Secretary General of the Egyptian Teachers Union.
The meeting witnessed a wide discussion of a number of issues of interest to the teacher community, especially the development of vocational training systems, support for teachers’ rights, and improving the working environment within educational institutions.
During the meeting, Khalaf El Zinati, President of the Egyptian Teachers Union, stressed the union's keenness to be open to leading international experiences, benefit from successful models in the field of union governance and improve the services provided to teachers.
He pointed out that the Egyptian participation in the meetings of the Executive Council of the International Organization for Education as an observer comes at an important time, as the education sector in Egypt is witnessing serious steps towards development, which requires strengthening channels of cooperation with international trade union institutions to formulate common visions in line with global changes in the education profession.
For her part, Ms. Corina Highthorpe, President of the Federation of Teachers in Australia, expressed her appreciation for the pivotal role played by teachers in Egypt, stressing that the Egyptian experience in facing the challenges of education deserves attention and study.
She praised the efforts of the Egyptian Union in supporting the rights of teachers and enhancing their participation in the development of educational policies, expressing the readiness of the Australian Union to exchange experiences in the fields of vocational training and raising the efficiency of educational cadres.
Yasser Arafat, Secretary General of the Egyptian Teachers Union, said that the meeting witnessed an agreement in the visions and the need to strengthen bilateral partnerships and activate joint work programs through the World Education Organization, including the organization of workshops and the exchange of professional delegations to discuss the challenges facing teachers in light of rapid technological developments, in addition to discussing the mechanisms of supporting the teacher as the main pillar in the education system.
وفي ختام اللقاء، قام خلف الزناتي نقيب المعلمين المصريين بإهداء السيدة كورينا هايثورب رئيسة اتحاد المعلمين فى استراليا، درعاً تذكارياً يحمل شعار نقابة المهن التعليمية، وقد أعربت السيدة كورينا عن سعادتها بهذا التكريم، مؤكدة أنه يمثل خطوة مهمة نحو بناء شراكات أكثر فاعلية داخل المنظمة الدولية للتربية.
وتركز اجتماعات المكتب التنفيذى لمنظمة الدولية للتربية “Education International” ، المنعقدة حالياً بالعاصمة البلجيكية بروكسل ، على استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعى فى العملية التعليمية ، وتعد المنظمة أكبر اتحاد عالمي لنقابات التعليم، تمثل ملايين المعلمين والموظفين في قطاع التعليم في جميع أنحاء العالم ، وهدفها الأساسي هو تعزيز حقوق المعلمين وجودة التعليم العام ، وتضم أكثر من 400 منظمة ونقابة من 170 دولة حول العالم،
ويأتى اجتماع المكتب التنفيذى المنعقد حاليا فى بلجيكا ، بعد أشهر قليلة من استضافة القاهرة لأول مرة اجتماعات منظمة الدولية للتربية خلال شهر أبريل الماضى 2025 ، بعد انضمام نقابة المعلمين المصرية لعضوية المنظمة الدولية للتربية .
