Assiut to host 3rd Spanish-Egyptian Intensive Care Summit on October 1-2

On October 1 and 2, 2025, Assiut University will host the third Spanish-Egyptian Summit on Intensive Care, with the participation of a group of professors and experts from Egypt and Spain, in the framework of enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of health and medicine.

Leading speakers from both countries will discuss the latest developments in intensive medicine and share experiences on the daily challenges facing intensive care units around the world. The sessions cover a variety of topics including the latest research and therapeutic practices, as well as the development of mechanisms of academic and scientific cooperation between the two sides.

Assiut University

Organized in coordination between Assiut University and the Egyptian College of Intensive Care Physicians, the summit is a unique platform to promote scientific and technical exchange between Spain and Egypt in this vital specialty.

In parallel with the summit, cultural events are held to highlight the deep historical and cultural ties between the two countries, through a photographic exhibition entitled "Zahra City: The Bright City", by Spanish photographer Rafael Carmona, organized by the Spanish Embassy in Egypt.

Campus

The exhibition, which takes place on campus at Assiut University during the two days of the summit, highlights the aesthetic and architectural aspects of the historic city of Zahra in Cرطبrdoba, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The exhibition also honours Ibn Rushd, a prominent Andalusian physician and philosopher, who is a common symbol of cultural heritage between Spain and Egypt.

These events, both scientific and cultural, emphasize the deep partnership between the two countries, which goes beyond academic disciplines to include historical and human dimensions that promote rapprochement and mutual understanding.
