The President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, declared Friday an official holiday throughout the country, in commemoration of the historic victory achieved by the Ecuadorian elected President on Germany 2.1 yesterday, Thursday, which included qualifying for the 32th World Cup of Football 2026.
Noboa wrote through the X platform: "Thanks to the players and the artistic apparatus who, despite criticism, humiliation and the difficult moments they went through, managed to restore their balance and give the entire country this great joy, before he added: "Today is a formal holiday."
Under the presidential decree signed by Noboa, on Friday, 26 Joan 2026 was officially holiday throughout Ecuador.
