As part of its firm commitment to community responsibility, the Bank of Egypt and its Foundation for Community Development organized a celebration of Orphanhood Day in 15 Egyptian governorates in order to maintain its leading role in the service of society and support for the most-favoured groups.
The celebrations in Cairo and Jezizah governorates saw more than 600 children participating in distinguished events at the Children ' s Forum for Civilization and Innovation, where children enjoyed a variety of recreational and artistic activities and interactive games, which were designed to bring joy and happiness to their souls, and the Vice-President of the Board of Trustees of the Bank of Egypt ' s Foundation for Community Development attended the Day, and the Bank ' s staff and their families participated in the Day of Birdah and the Day.
Similar ceremonies have also been organized concurrently in 13 other governorates, including Aswan, Alexandria, Al-Sharqi, Orientale, Red Sea (Life and Gardah), Sohaj, Qana, Aswet, Ismailia, Canalunal cities, Lake, Mania and Beni Soif, in coordination with the various branches of the Bank, bringing the total number of children to about 3500, reflecting Egypt ' s concern for the largest number of children.
Dr. Aliqi, Vice-President of the Board of Trustees of the Bank of Egypt Community Development Foundation, stated that the Bank of Egypt and its Foundation were keen to organize such effectiveness annually with the participation of Bank staff, thereby contributing to a positive and sustainable impact, stressing that the priority was human development and the placing of child care at the top of the concerns, and that the Bank was not only providing material support but was working to support and empower children in an integrated way that would enhance their chances of a better future.
The Bank of Egypt believes in the importance of community responsibility as an essential foundation for sustainable development, ensuring that many community initiatives are adopted and implemented directly and indirectly through the Bank of Egypt Foundation for Community Development. The Bank ' s focus areas include health, education and social cohesion, as well as support for more needy villages and the development of more-favoured areas, contributing to inclusive and sustainable development.
It should be noted that, in recognition of its outstanding efforts in this area, the Bank of Egypt has seized many global awards in the area of community responsibility, reflecting its firm commitment to support society, and during 2025 the Bank has allocated about 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds to invest in various community responsibility activities, emphasizing its active role in achieving positive and sustainable impact.
