Economic expert: Middle East stability opens promising growth prospects for the economy

Samia al - Faqi

Dr. Ahmed Mutat, the economist, confirmed that the end of wars and conflicts currently taking place on the international scene would constitute a crucial turning point towards the recovery of the world economy.

The most immediate impact of that stability would be a marked reduction in energy and fuel prices, which would contribute to lower production costs across the various economic sectors.

The return of tranquillity to areas of tension, particularly those associated with strategic navigation corridors such as the Harms Strait, would enhance the efficiency of global supply chains and significantly reduce freight and insurance costs, thereby supporting the flow of international trade and restoring normalcy to markets.

He also pointed out that the decline in prices for basic raw materials, mainly euros, aluminium and plastics, would provide a strong boost to the agriculture and industry sectors by reducing production costs, increasing supply volume and enhancing the competitiveness of domestic products in global markets.

The expert expects that these positive changes will be reflected in the labour market through lower unemployment rates as production resumes at its natural pace, as well as the recovery of the tourism sector at the global level thanks to improved security conditions and increased international travel.

With regard to the Egyptian economy, he stressed that Egypt would be one of the most advantageous countries to benefit from this new global climate, building on its security stability and its economic structure capable of attracting foreign investment, with expectations that capital flows would increase over the coming period.

He stressed that the conclusion of conflicts would enhance the purchasing power of citizens by reducing inflationary pressures, prompting growth in several vital sectors, primarily the real estate sector, which directly benefited from improved income levels and market stability.
