Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, approved the investment budget of Alexandria Petroleum Company and Amiriya Petroleum Refining Company for the fiscal year 2026-2027, in the presence of Lieutenant General Kamel Minister, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, via video conference, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment.
During the meetings, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stressed the importance of the pivotal role of oil refining companies in the lives of citizens by securing the needs of the local market of petroleum products, stressing the need to continue to develop and raise the efficiency of refining units to maximize production capacities and improve the quality of products, which contributes to increasing production and reducing the import bill and reducing the burden on the state.
The minister pointed out the importance of developing the system of quality control of petroleum products through the accredited analytical laboratories in all refining companies, in order to reach the production of products of outstanding quality to the consumer, stressing at the same time the importance of preparing companies reports of the results of sample tests in laboratories and presentation to public assemblies.
The minister also called on companies to accelerate the completion of ongoing projects and the development of units with limited production at refineries, which contributes to achieving real added value, raising the efficiency of productive assets and maximizing economic return, with the importance of giving priority to quick-impact projects that contribute to increasing production and improving the quality of products.
For her part, Engineer Reham Alafa, President of Alexandria Petroleum Company, reviewed the company's investment plan, which amounted to about 10 billion pounds, and includes the implementation of a number of replacement and renovation projects, most notably the project to restart one of the boilers, which contributed to saving about 1.7 billion pounds compared to the purchase of a new boiler.
She stressed the implementation of a number of safety, occupational health and environmental protection projects, such as the alarm system and extinguishing units, monitoring emissions, in addition to projects to develop and improve energy efficiency.
On the other hand, Mohamed Sobhy Amer, Chairman of Amreya Petroleum Refining Company, stressed that the company is working on the implementation of a number of important projects for replacement and renovation, such as the replacement and renovation of oil products tanks, modernization of control systems for the company's devices, digital transformation, and other projects.
وأوضح أنه من أهم المشروعات الجاري تنفيذها مشروع مجمع تحسين النافتا وإنتاج العطريات، والذي يهدف إلى زيادة حجم الإنتاج من البنزول والبنزين، بالإضافة إلى تنفيذ عدد من مشروعات ترشيد الطاقة، مثل تحسين كفاءة الطاقة لأفران مجمع العطريات، الذي سيوفر 1000 طن غاز حريق سنويًا، وإحلال وتجديد الغلايات، والذي يوفر 450 طن غاز طبيعي سنويًا، ومشروع استبدال وإحلال مصائد البخار التالفة، والذي سيخفض الانبعاثات الكربونية بما يقارب 261 طنًا سنويًا.
