During a meeting with the Egyptian Medicine Authority and representatives of the Chamber of the Medicines and Distribution Corporations, the General Trade Union of China discussed developments and mechanisms for the implementation of the resolution on the withdrawal of medicines, as it was agreed that the deadline for testing medicines would be 28 February.
With regard to the recovery of the benefits of pharmacies on the value of expired medicines, it was agreed that recovery would take place during the months of March and April, instead of six months, as stipulated in resolution 47 of 2025.
The pharmacy trade union has confirmed the continued coordination and other meetings with all parties concerned, to ensure full implementation of the resolution and to resolve all obstacles that may be encountered in its implementation, while working to find radical solutions to end the drug crisis, which is out of reach, thereby helping to control the drug market.
The meeting was attended by a representative of the Sailah trade union, Deputy Dr. Karim Bader Ami, Deputy Committee on Health of the House of Representatives and a member of the Board of Directors of the Trade Union of the Patrons, and Dr. Mohamed Sheikh Najib Saida Cairo. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Tamer Husseini, Vice-President of the Egyptian Medicines Department, was attended by Dr. Jamal al-Mah Mahmoud Al-Sah Al-Maud Al-Sah.
